Meet Chris Baker
Chris Baker first came to Omaha as a standup comic, working the Funny Bone Comedy Club. "I walked out of the airport and this place just felt right," he said. Omaha's warm, humorous crowds made it his favorite tour stop.
He launched his talk radio career at WIOD Miami, winning nationwide fans with quick wit and unique perspective. Stunning radio insiders, he moved to Omaha's KKAR—becoming a ratings leader and joining the broadcast team for the 1997 Husker National Championship season. That year, he met his wife Sarah, an Omaha native, now a middle school teacher.
His star rose in Kansas City, Houston, and Minneapolis, plus fill-ins for Glenn Beck. Always planning to return, Chris and Sarah settled back in Omaha with their three sons to launch the wildly popular Chris Baker Show on 1110 KFAB—dissecting issues with humor, clarity, and research-driven insight.
His career was cut short in 2021 by an "accidental tweet" (the "Tweet of Death") and cancel culture backlash, Chris turned resilience into action. Now, instead of just talking about Omaha and Douglas County needs, he's running for County Board, District 6—focusing on results like few leaders do.

Chris Baker is a dedicated leader who truly cares about our community. He wishes to bring new eyes to the problems we face.
